Brethren,
Local Lodges offer Opportunity to Hear About Freemasonry
Masonic Lodges in Bristol, Damariscotta, Boothbay, Wiscasset and Dresden are inviting men and their partners to join local Masons at a special meeting to be held at 118 Ocean Point Road in East Boothbay on November 21st. As the Grand Master of Masons will be in attendance, all Masons are encouraged to attend, especially Lodge officers.
There will be a dinner at 6:00 pm, followed by a program by the Wiscasset-based Chewonki Foundation, founded in 1915. Chewonki runs educational programs with an environmental focus. That will be followed by short presentations on all that the six local lodges and the Maine Masonic Charitable Foundation are doing to support their communities and people throughout the state.
Freemasonry is an age-old family of fraternal organizations for men, women, boys and girls, all of which share common themes of principled personal-development and service to others. The first lodge in Maine dates to 1762. The oldest in Lincoln County, Wiscasset’s Lincoln Lodge, was formed in 1792.
Local Masons should contact their Lodge by November 12th to make reservations to attend dinner. Others interested in attending should contact Dennis Boyd at dennis.boyd39@gmail.com.
This is the annual meeting with the Grand Master and his officers for the lodges in the 10th district. All Masons are welcome and encouraged to attend. Lodge officers, especially Masters and Wardens, should attend this meeting. This is semi-public, invited guests and family are welcome.
